System.
LaGENUS is a World Wide Web database of
university expertise to which you can add your personal profile. It
is open to search by universities, local government and business.
LaSMARTS is part of LaGENUS and e-mails you relevant
funding opportunities as they are published based on your personal interest
profile.
Both LaSMARTS/LaGENUS use
SPIN (Sponsored
Programs Information Network), a comprehensive database of federal and
foundation funding opportunities, to create the perfect match.
The Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS)
IRIS is a database
that contains records on over 7,700 federal and non-federal funding
opportunities in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities.
In addition to the database of funding opportunities in the sciences,
IRIS also offers IRIS Alert Service and IRIS Expertise Service.
Use the Alert Service to create personal search profiles and receive
e-mail alerts when a match is created. Faculty and staff are encouraged
to use the Expertise Service to create detailed electronic biosketches
for viewing by colleagues at other institutions, program officers at
