Letter From the President
To My Fellow Xavierites,
t’s an honor, a pleasure and a privilege to serve you as your Student Government Association President for the 2008-2009 school year. I hope that everyone is looking forward to a new and exciting year at Xavier. As you go forth into another year with the goal of continuing your education, I wish all of my fellow students and peers the best with all of their endeavors.
The idea of change is something that is not easily met with ease and comfort. The many challenges people often endure due to this idea often makes it not readily sought after. However, Bill Cosby believes that in order to succeed, your desire for success has to be greater than you fear of failure. Therefore, I think that the time is now for us, the student body, to accept the challenge of both strengthening the mission of our beloved University and reviving the mission of SGA.
Keeping in mind the theme for this year, “For the Students, By the Students: Reviving Our Mission,” it is the goal of your elected officers to first start making the necessary changes within SGA so we can more efficiently serve you. Through fresh and innovative programming, we hope to get you excited about SGA once again and leave behind a strong legacy that other executive boards can improve upon. I challenge you to take that step with me because success is often the result of taking a misstep in the right direction! I look forward to having a great year with you!
