Honors in Music Theory |

- To be eligible for this honor, the student should be a music major who has completed 20 hours in music theory with a minimum GPA in theory of 3.5 by the first half of the senior year.
- The student who elects to complete this program must apply to the departmental chair who will review that student’s record, give final approval for admission in the music theory honors program, and assist the student in obtaining a faculty person to supervise a final project.
- The student must register for MUST 4500H in the final semester of the senior year. This course is a faculty supervised and approved music theory project (see course description).
- Upon completion of one of the three honors theory projects prescribed for this course, a “pass” grade must be obtained from a majority of the Music Theory faculty.
- The Music Theory faculty will also give a final evaluation of the student’s Honors Project.
