(Leadership Education And Development Skills)
The mission of XU Leadership programs is to prepare students for leadership
roles and responsibilities through use of multiple techniques. Distinctive
programs for emergent leaders, students preparing to take
on leadership positions, and advanced leaders, students who
already work in some leadership capacity engage students in an interactive
and comprehensive curriculum designed to teach effective an ethical leadership
skills. Programming includes training workshops, community
service, panel discussions, article reviews, and case studies.
Effective August 16, 2004, all students holding the position of Peer Dean,
Resident Hall Assistant, M.A.X. Project Coordinator and S.G.A. Candidate
should hold XU leadership certification. Leadership certification can
be obtained upon completion of six (6) training workshops and submission
of assignments. Completion of the XU LEADS emergent or advanced leadership
program does not guarantee any of the aforementioned student leadership positions
and other requirements may be set by the individual organization.
