History Department
The History Department at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a one-year, full-time lecturer position in World History. The successful applicant will teach four courses of the World History survey per semester. Teaching experience and Ph.D. preferred. Masters degree in History required.

Mathematics Department
The Department of Mathematics invites applications for at least one tenure-track position, starting fall 2009. Mathematics faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and developmental mathematics courses, advise students, and actively participate in scholarly, professional, and grant activities. A Ph. Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to help with the facilitation of clinical education and case discussion courses. The successful candidate will be tasked to maintain a medication therapy management service in partnership with one or more of the clinical faculty. Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to precept clinical education students and participate in didactic courses. The successful candidate will be tasked to maintain a medication therapy management service in a clinical site consistent with the applicant's practice interests. Ambulatory and Acute Care sites available. Minimum qualification: PharmD with completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency or three years clinical practice experience. Special consideration will be given to applicants with PGY2+ training, those with additional years of clinical experience and those with specialty certifications. Library -- Assistant Director for Access Services
Xavier University of Louisiana, a Catholic, historically Black university, seeks a dynamic and service-oriented librarian for the position of Assistant Director for Access Services of the Xavier Library. Founded in 1915, Xavier’s enrollment stands at more than 3100. For the last fourteen years Xavier has ranked first in the nation in placing African American students into medical school and the College of Pharmacy is one of the top producers of African American pharmacists. The successful candidate will join a team of twenty-
two full-time staff, including eleven Faculty rank librarians, and supervise four Faculty librarians and twelve full and part-time staff members.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all library service desks including Circulation, Reserve, Government Documents, Interlibrary Loan and the Pharmacy Library. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, develop, and implement policies and procedures for the department as well as promote quality reference and service. Major responsibilities include scheduling, supervising, training, and evaluation of library Faculty and staff, including evening and weekend staff, and collecting and analyzing user statistics. The successful candidate will participate in reference, instruction, and collection development, and will serve as liaison to some academic departments in selecting books for the library collection. Teaching is also a component of service and to this end the candidate will teach classes in library instruction.
Qualifications:
A MLS, or equivalent degree, from an ALA-accredited program, three years of library managerial or supervisory experience; a strong commitment to patron relations; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the initiative and ability to work creatively and cooperatively both as a team member and independently. Information technology skills in relevant areas such as database, integrated library systems, and Web applications are expected. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet promotion requirements.
Salary, benefits, and application procedure:
Librarians have 11-month, faculty status, non-tenure track appointments. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and degrees.
