Biology Department

The Biology Department of Xavier University of Louisiana seeks applicants for two positions: one tenure-track and one non-tenure track, starting in Fall 2010.  For the tenure-track position, candidates must have a Ph.D. or DVM, Anatomy and Physiology background.  Post-doctoral training and a strong track record in the broad areas of cancer biology or biomedical research is preferred.   For the non-tenure track position, candidates must have a Ph.D., and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.  Background in A&P, Micro, or Immunology is a plus.  Send curriculum vitae and names of three references to Dr. M.C. Business Division

Xavier University of Louisiana’s Division of Business announces three positions, one each in the areas of Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Management starting fall 2010. Accounting:   Ph.D. (ABD considered).  Minimum qualifications - MBA or MS in Accounting, CPA.  The position requires teaching a range of traditional courses in accounting.  Entrepreneurship:  Ph.D. in business or a related field (MBA or Masters considered), teaching and/or research/consulting/business ownership experiences.  The Hilton Chair in Entrepreneurship exists to: seek funding from government and private sources, conduct community seminars and workshops, establish networks with the business community, and teach undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship and business.  Management:  Ph.D. (ABD considered) with a focus on operations and supply chain management.

Computer Science Department

Xavier University of Louisiana's Computer Science Department has immediate need of a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching; strong communication, presentation, and writing abilities; and research interests in information systems, operating systems, or networks. A PhD in a computing discipline (computer science, information systems, engineering) is required.

Xavier University of Louisiana, Division of Education, is seeking applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education/Elementary Education: Full-time, non-tenure track position beginning August, 2010.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students and working with K-12 local schools. Applicants should have experience as a K-12 teacher and an earned doctorate in special education.

Languages Department

The Department of Languages at Xavier University of Louisiana announces openings for a one-year faculty position in Spanish.  The position begins August 2010.

Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Spanish, a record of teaching excellence and scholarship and some expertise in second language acquisition.  M.A. required with previous college-level language teaching experience as well as implementation of technology in language learning and teaching.   Applicants should be able to teach beginning, intermediate, and upper levels of the Spanish language, as well as specialized courses in Spanish when needed.

Physics Department

Xavier University of Louisiana, a Catholic, Historically Black University, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Physics with a start date of August 2010.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in either physics or engineering and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and undergraduate research.  The standard teaching load for each faculty member is 12 credits per semester.  The department is especially interested in candidates with a background in engineering.

Pharmacy - Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics/Pharmacokinetics
The Division of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences (DBPS) at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy invites applications for one 12-month tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics with a focus on biopharmaceutics and/or pharmacokinetics.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice -- Non-Tenure Track Positions
Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to precept clinical education students and participate in didactic courses. The successful candidate will be tasked to maintain a medication therapy management service in a clinical site consistent with the applicant's practice interests. Ambulatory and Acute Care sites available. Minimum qualification: PharmD with completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency or three years clinical practice experience. Special consideration will be given to applicants with PGY2+ training, those with additional years of clinical experience and those with specialty certifications. Assistant or Associate Professor of Chronic Disease Epidemiology - Tenure-Track Position
The Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy (COP) invites applications for one 12-month tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology with emphasis in chronic disease epidemiology. The individual selected for this position will work as lead Epidemiologist in the Center for Minority Health & Health Disparities Research and Education (CMHDRE).  In this capacity, the lead Epidemiologist will be responsible for designing, directing and obtaining funding for ongoing research, demonstration, and/or evaluation projects toward the elimination of health disparities.   The applicant must demonstrate the ability to disseminate research findings through professional presentations and peer-reviewed publications.  The COP offers nationally competitive salaries, and opportunities exist for fruitful collaboration within the college, university and surrounding medical and research institutions.

Drug Information Specialist -- Non-Tenure Track Position
Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to help with the facilitation of clinical education and the delivery of drug information services. The successful candidate will be tasked to the Xavier University Drug Information Center in partnership with the Center's Director. Minimum qualification: PharmD with at least two years experience. Experience in one or more aspects of drug information is preferred but not required.
