What is the Office of Student Accounts?
The Office of Student Accounts (Student Accounts) is responsible for billing and collecting all University tuition and fees. The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily unless otherwise posted. Student Accounts provides assistance in reviewing student's account histories and payments, processes refund check requests, and research inquiries/discrepancies on student accounts. However, Student Accounts does not issue any Financial Aid or Tuition Assistance.

NSF Check Policy
A service fee of $30 will be assessed for all NSF Checks and Stop Payments. If the check is returned as NSF or a Stop Payment, an administrative hold will be placed on the account resulting in the loss of a student's privilege to pay by personal check.

What happens if I can not pay my tuition?
Students who have not satisfied financial obligations to the University are prohibited from taking final exams and will receive a grade of W$ for the course(s). The W$ is computed as an “F” in the student's grade point average. Students who receive fiscal clearance after the date/time of his/her final exam(s) will NOT be given a make-up exam.

What are Title IV funds?
Pell Grants, SEOG Grants, Federal Stafford Direct Loans, Federal Unsubsidized Loans and Parent PLUS Loans are all Title IV funds. The U.S. Department of Education has rules governing the management of Title IV student financial assistance programs.

How do I request a refund check?
If the student's account is overpaid by Title IV funds, scholarships or personal payments, a student is eligible to receive a refund check. Refunds of Title IV overpayment are automatically issued within 14 days of the overpayment. A request is not necessary for Title IV Funds.

Overpayment created by Parent PLUS loans are issued directly to the parent (borrower) and will be mailed directly to the parent (borrower) within 14 days. However, overpayment of scholarship funds or personal payments must be formally requested and are not automatically generated. Refund requests can be made in person, by phone or e-mail. Refunds are generally issued within 14 days of the request.

IMPORTANT NOTICES

All students must voluntarily authorize Xavier University of LA to apply Title IV funds to allowable charges, prior year minor institutional charges, bookstore charges, health insurance fee, finance charges, fees, and fines. The form is available in Student Accounts.
