The purpose of the Centers of Excellence High School Initiative is to expose local African- American high school students to a career in Pharmacy; ultimately we want them to become future Pharmacists. It is our goal to increase the number of minority students who enter into the health professions. To reach this goal we invite local students to the College of Pharmacy to participate in activities with Clinical Professors of Pharmacy, we have also developed a Summer Enrichment Program.
Summer Enrichment
During the summer months The College of Pharmacy facilitates the Summer Enrichment Program. It is an eight-week session designed to support high school students’ interests in health sciences and to introduce participants to a career in pharmacy. Academic preparation in the areas of math and science are of primary focus.
