Mission: In keeping with the mission of Xavier University of Louisiana, the Division of Business is committed to preparing students for leadership in the world of business. Through a challenging and pluralistic learning environment, the Department strongly promotes a desire for lifelong learning and supports activities that involve service to the community.
The Division of Business is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning process within the Business Division satisfy standards that contribute to the continuous quality improvement of business education programs, teaching of business courses, and student learning outcomes. The concepts of global business are emphasized throughout the curriculum and technology is considered integral to the learning process.
Business Advisory Council (BAC): This is an assemblage of corporate executives that provides the department with partnerships with the local business community and nationally distinguished companies. Some BAC members are corporate executives who are employed by companies, such as, Procter & Gamble, 3M, Entergy, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, while others are entrepreneurs and have their own businesses. From this partnership, mutual interests between the department and the council are shared with a focus of moving the business program forward towards reaching its goals and objectives.
